Biometrics can be fingerprint, iris scan, hand scan, or facial recognition.
The most common form for residential homes and regular business applications has been fingerprint.
Fingerprint reader locks are fantastic concepts and do work.... BUT.... you must remember biometrics are LIVE "keys" and are subject to environmental conditions moreso than static "keys" such as code pads, swipe cards and the good old faithful brass key.

Up to 48 users can be programmed into the system, with time window access which means cleaners and carers can be provided limited access to your home. Audit reports of access by users also available.
This system is totally wireless, both the cylinder and the code pad run on batteries.

All controllers have the capability to operate multiple relays (dependant on model of controller) so that different fingers can perform various functions; eg middle finger opens door, ring finger may arm/disarm the alarm system and the thumb may turn on lights.
